My Favorite Christmas Flash Mob of 2011……..

Darth Vader knows music too, what is next for him?

This is always a fun time of the year.  I have been looking over to Christmas Flash Mobs and I am thinking this is the best one for 2011.  And I have to say Darth Vader keeps surprising me with his talents.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanza!

Random Stacie: RIP Dan Wheldon 1978-2011

DanWheldon

Today I feel the pain that people felt the day that NASCAR lost Dale Earnhardt Sr. with the tragic passing of IZOD Indy Car Driver Dan Wheldon today at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  I will admit I did not know much about him other than him being a double Indianapolis 500 Champion along with a husband and father to two adorable sons.  Other than that I knew nothing of the driver.  From everything I have read and heard today he truly was a special person with a heart of gold.  I am still in disbelief even after seeing the awful fifteen car crash which took out almost half of the field early in the last race of the 2011 season.  My thoughts and prayers are with the whole Wheldon family, his friends, and fans on this night.  He will be remembered in everyone heart for different reasons, to me he will be the winner of the 100th Indianapolis 500 in May.

My First Race As A Fan in Person at Pure Michigan 400!

KBWinPureMI400

My first race as an attendee, I have to admit the first hundred or so laps were pretty boring from where I was sitting.  The downfall for me is I did not have something to distract me, yet I also did not have any commercials or boring analysis.  I was actually happy with how the race finished, especially with how two of my favorite drivers were driving for the win.  Kyle Busch won it and did an awesome job keeping just ahead of Jimmie Johnson.

My first race as a fan at MIS!

I have to admit my day started quite early and it got better as they went on.  I was able to meet Miss Sprint Cup Jaclyn Roney and NASCAR Hall of Famer Bobby Allison before going to my seats for the pre-race festivities.  As I was watching across from where I sat I saw Kyle Busch’s pit crew definitely work some magic.  It was a fun day for me and I know it was that for Kyle, Samantha, and the whole No. 18 M&Ms Toyota Camry team!

Congrats, Kyle, on your first win at Michigan International Speedway along with being able to clinch your place in the 2011 Chase!

I had a great day and I am definitely ready for my next experience to watch a race in person,

Random Stacie: Bucket List Check Off!

For anyone who knows me I love to watch NASCAR, every chance I get.  Well this weekend I will be able to check something off of my bucket list.  I, Stacie, will actually be in attendance for the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway.  Yes I have been to my home track once before for a Camping World Truck Series race which in itself was absolutely amazing and something I will never forget.  Yet this is a whole new world for me.  I will not be watching the race via the television.  So I am extremely excited.

I have to admit,. I was joking with my friend that if I won tickets I would be going and in no way would I give them to her via Twitter.  Yet that is exactly why I am going.  I won TWO sets and one set is going to her.  I was definitely on a roll it seemed after winning a David Ragan autographed die-cast and a hero card from another contest via Twitter.  So I figured I should at least try.  In no way did I think I would actually win one set.  To win two I knew luck was definitely on my side, well at least last week it was.

So as I was on Facebook I noticed Bobby Labonte’s team giving away a set and I quickly answered the question with the correct answer which I got via NASCAR.com and two days later I woke up to see I won one of the sets in which they were giving away.  And this was after I had won a set of tickets from Travis Kvapil via Twitter guessing one of the locations he and his family were visiting on their way to Watkins Glen International.  So to know I am going to the race and my friend is also going this means I am a happy girl!

So why am I so happy to be seeing a race in person? I have many reasons, yet for me this is something I have wanted to experience since going to the race last year.  This time I will be seeing Penske Racing, Roush Fenway Racing, and Stewart-Haas Racing in action in hopes to cheer one of their brands to victory.  I have a special place in my heart for Michigan and I always will.  One of the things about my home state I am truly proud of is the companies based here including the big three of Dodge, Ford, and General Motors.  And to be able to see my three favorite paint schemes in person is even more fun.  I know the they will look even better in person.

I am definitely excited for the Pure Michigan 400, are you and who do you think will win?

My Stance On Politics and Religion in Social Media

Is it wrong of me to think politics and religion do not belong in social media?  Is it wrong I do my best to stay away from both on them?  Just really sick of people who think they need to push it down our throats with every other post they do via Facebook!  I do not see my friends in a different light, yet I do not push my beliefs onto them so why do they push onto me?  Sorry for going on here, just something that really needed to be addressed by me cause I was asked by a friend to UNFRIEND them because I answered truthfully why I would not post something on my status!

I usually do not say anything when it comes to this, yet this was a dear friend who posted something and I was just being honest with my answer.  I have nothing wrong with friends who have strong beliefs in religion and politics, I don’t!  More power to them for being upfront about them, I actually wish I was more upfront on a lot more things.  But in no way would I push any of my beliefs on people.

Do you think politics and religion deserve a place in social media?  And if so, why?  I would love to hear what you have to say.  I just am on opinion and I know this.

One Remake I Am Excited to See This Year is Footloose!

So excited to see this remake of ‘Footloose’ and just from the trailer, I hope this one is even better!

I have to admit I am usually not one of those people who likes to see remakes of some great movies from the past.  But this one has definitely caught my attention and I am definitely excited to see Footloose when it is released this October.  Just like the original we will see lots of new faces in acting emerge for example Kenny Wormald.  I am also excited to see a different side to one of my favorite professional dancers from Dancing with the Stars Julianne Hough.  This will definitely be a great one and I am excited to see what new they bring to the story.

Are you ready as I am for this 2011 remake?

30 Day Photo Challenge: Photo of Me

MeAustinOct23

I have a few pictures of me as inspiration of the heavy weight I once was.  I know I have a lot more to lose and I will do it.  As I looked at these old pictures of me from over five years ago I realize I want to do this challenge next year again and see what changes in a year.  Hopefully I will have a decent picture to represent myself for the last picture of this challenge.

Have you learned anything about me looking at these different photos and songs I have posted?

30 Day Photo Challenge: Picture of Someone I Miss

untitled

LTC. Jay F. Ball

July 6, 1972 – January 5, 2011

I miss my brother who we lost way too soon to cancer this past January.  He was a fighter to the end and I am proud to have such wonderful, warm, memories in my heart and soul.  My brother was honored in so many ways since he passed away.  I just hope his memory will live on even longer by family, friends, and people who were touched by him by only meeting once or twice.  I know I was touched by him.  I miss him so much, I really do.

Miss you, Jay!
